What do you think makes a great car?
Is it the way it looks? The way it drives?
Does it fit your family and everything that goes with it?
Is it the technology? Or the comfort?
Any and all of these things are the nature of the Chevy Cruze.
After driving the Cruze around for the past month, I have absolutely fallen in love with it.
As soon as I sit down in the Cruze, it is immediate comfort. And I’m not talking about the seats here people. The entire ambiance of the car is breathtaking.
I remember the first time I drove the Cruze, I was instantly attached. I had the windows rolled up, music playing, and the feeling I had is pretty hard to describe. It was like I was in my own little space. But it didn’t feel little. It was like the entire outside world was shut out, and it was just me and the Cruze.
When I read this off of Chevrolet’s website, it kind of put everything into a clearer perspective: “…Cruze chooses to go about things quietly in the interior. It’s designed with 30 distinct acoustical treatments(5) — including a triple-sealed, acoustic-laminated glass windshield — to create a serene interior.”
Yes, that’s it! That was the feeling I had. SERENE.
“…Its cavernous, quiet interior and beautifully sculpted exterior feel like luxury.”

Exactly. The Cruze is something spectacular. It is such a unique driving experience, I invite anyone to test drive it. It’s worth it.
Other than the comfort, the Cruze drives flawlessly. The acceleration, the braking, the steering. I mean, it’s all there. It’s all perfect. As I had said in a previous post, It’s almost as if the Cruze is driving itself and you are just guiding it along. Exquisite.
The technology is just as amazing. Smartphone compatibility, built in GPS navigation, OnStar, DVD player dash. The Cruze has got it all. I’m pretty sure the only thing it can’t do is take pictures. Everything else is just about covered.
So what about space? The Cruze quickly became the family favorite. Not only is it amazing on gas (especially compared to our bulky SUV), but it fit the 3 of us perfect with plenty of room to spare. The trunk is enormous – it stood up to laundry day, and passed with flying colors for grocery shopping. But just in case (doubtful considering the trunk space) you need a little extra room, the Cruze also has a fold down seat.
I love the fact that kiddo can open the door, get in, and put on her seat belt all by herself with the Cruze. That’s not something she has ever been able to do with out SUV.
So what are my most favorite features?
- Rear parking assist – I don’t know how in the world I lived without that.
- Heated seats. Even though I didn’t get to use them, they would come in super handy when our yucky winter comes.
- The built in GPS. I have the WORSE sense of direction. I couldn’t get my way home without it.
- The compatibility with my iPhone – but I’m pretty sure you readers already knew that.
- The storage capacity still blows my mind.
- The automatic headlights. I never had to worry about turning my headlights on or off in the Cruze.
- The hands-free built in blue-tooth. Not once did I manually have to answer or dial my phone in the car.
There is only one complaint I have about the Cruze. Yeah, in all the awesomeness, there is one thing that bothers me, and it’s on the keychain. So I’m not even sure if this comes with all of the Cruzes, but it bugs me.
Have you ever heard of a “pocket-dial”? When you accidentally call someone on the phone while your phone is in your pocket? Well it’s quite similar. On 3 different occasions, while the Cruze was unlocked, the trunk button on my keychain triggered in my purse or pocket. When you walk up to a car with the trunk open, that’s bad news. But that is my only teensy weensy complaint about the Cruze.
Overall, it’s the perfect car for anyone. It’s perfect for the guy who wants style. The girl that wants speed. The mom that wants space.
It’s perfect for me, but sadly, I have to relinquish the keys and move on.
